Honey Bee Home Care

Hello! My name is Marissa. I offer child care to a small group of children (a total of 4) in a safe and nurturing environment. My home is located in the Briargate area of Colorado Springs, area code 80920. As a small, homebased childcare, I am able to create a personal, nurturing environment full of learning, fun and all the comforts away from home!

 

I believe children learn best through play. And with my collegiate and professional background in music and theatrical performance, I LOVE connecting with children through music and creative play! I passionately create a fun and engaging environment and encourage children to explore the world around them. Whether that means digging for worms and planting seeds or building a fort with friends, we discover new things about ourselves and the world!

Since obtaining my bachelors degree in music, I have been a professional musician, sing-along story teller, fulltime nanny, para-professional for special education students, music teacher, camp counselor and now a mother of two school aged children. That adds up to over 20 years of care giving experience!

My philosophy is that all children deserve a safe environment that encourages the development of curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.

​

We will have tons of fun learning and growing together, exploring outdoors, playing music, doing crafts, building friendships and enjoying family style meals.

 

At this time, I will be following the Academy School District 20's schedule for some major holidays (ie. Christmas and Spring break). I will still offer care on SNOW DAYS. Please checkout my parent handbook for more details.

 

Marissa is/has:

• CPR certified

• Bachelor's degree in Music

• Completed additional college course work in clinical nutrition, music therapy, developmental and behavioral psychology and special education.

• Has experience caring for children of all ages and a wide range of physical and developmental capabilities, including autism, hemiplesia and cerebral palsy. 

• References will be provided
